38 Days....

Over the last few weeks, we have accomplished many things to help this journey become a trip of a lifetime. First off, Kyle, our 5th person is back in on the roadtrip. After some uncertainies, he decided to rejoin the Durango Drifters. We are glad to have him back. Next, Tricia and Amy took some time and made a remix youtube video of what is to come on our roadtrip. Yes, I know Amy's singing or rapping isn't the best and Tricia was maybe dancing a little too much but we appreciate their effort. Also, we have an Official Durango Drifters t-shirt for sale. It's $10 a shirt, and you can purchase it directly on our website under the "shop" tab, or from any member of the roadtrip team. Sizes are S,M,L, & XL. We thank you for your support. We took forever to decide the color of the shirt, but we decided to go with the website colors, and go with a Green t-shirt and White writing. I would like to thank Kyle for driving to Scranton, PA with me to order the t-shirts. We also made some minor adjustments to our itinerary, and so far 2 major changes. First, we decided to finish our trip camping in Outter Banks, NC for July 4th weekend. This will add a few days to the trip, but we plan to be home July 5th. Secondly, we are now leaving May 24th, and were heading right for Cedar Point Amusement Park. Thanks Kristina for the research in finding Cedar Point. We are very excited about this, as well as, leaving in 38 days.....


With only 38 days left until we leave for our for trip we have a few more goals to accomplish. As mention above, we want to sell as many shirts as possible. Also, we have to install the Lifebelt system in our Durango. A company, http://www.nobucklenostart.com/ , gave us a Lifebelt system to install. This device prevents the vehicle from starting unless the seatbelt is buckled. In return, our back window will be advertising there company.

There also has been many speculations that Uncle Jorge will be traveling the first 4 days with the Durango Drifters. Yes, thats Mr. Jorge Barriga himself! He plans on coming with us when we go to Wrigely Field, and than to visit Minneapolis, MN when the Yankees take on the Twins in the new ballpark. We will look forward to his company.

SPRING FORWARD or..

Daylight saving time. We lost one hour of sleep, inconveniently to our disadvantage- in particular. As an optimistic, I look on the bright side, the cup half full perspective. The YouTube video is complete. Complete meaning the footage is documented. Complete meaning Amy can rest her vocal chords and her moves yo, complete meaning Shannon (my little sister) can rest her hand from patiently holding the heavy duty Cannon for endless hours of repetitive and cyclic takes and cuts. More cuts than takes. Complete meaning I can remove the headlight from my forehead. (Indentation already occurred). Complete meaning a rendition of Miley Cyrus will flee from my dreams tonight. Complete meaning 4:00 am. (but really 3:00 am).

Daylight saving time. We gain one hour of light, conveniently to our advantage. This indicates spring. March comes in like a lion but out like a lamb. Spring showers bring April flowers. And we all know what April flowers bring, especially the Durango Drifters—May madness, the trip of a lifetime, our 38 day journey cross country. T-minus 70 days.

Keep your beautiful eyes on the look out for the video post. Just need to splice and dice it. We are hoping to have it posted by the end of the week (if all runs smoothly). We are amateurs in the videography (yes I made that word up) world. But I promise you, our lack of professionalism here, (be patient with us), will confidently counteract – stay tuned.
